New Zealand Yacht Charters is based in Auckland, New Zealand at Westhaven Marina, which is by the Auckland Harbour Bridge and very close to the CBD.
Auckland is the perfect location for your cruising holiday. Its harbour, the Waitemata, is the busiest recreational harbour in New Zealand, giving Auckland its name as "The City of Sails". It is the gateway to the Hauraki Gulf. The Hauraki Gulf is one of the worlds largest, and most beautiful cruising grounds, with more than 75 islands spread over 1500 nautical miles and 500 sheltered, unspoilt, island anchorages to enjoy at your leisure.
Some of the islands are relatively small, while others, like Great Barrier Island, are up to 285 sq kilometres in size. Within these islands you will find many sheltered inlets and bays that provide safe anchorages, while you explore the coastlines or the natural beauty of their interiors.
We also have boats based at Opua in the Bay of Islands. The Bay of Islands with its warm climate and water based activities is a popular destination for New Zealand holiday makers and international tourist alike. Many overseas yachts make the Bay of Islands their New Zealand arrival destination because of its facilities, scenic beauty and climate. The Bay of Islands is, without doubt, the finest Maritime Park in New Zealand with 130 square miles of sheltered water studded with more than 144 islands, secluded bays and fantastic marine life at sub-tropical latitudes. The coastal scenery is nothing short of spectacular and can only be fully appreciated by cruising through the area
Our charter fleet consists of the world renowned, Bavaria 40 Cruisers. These boats set the benchmark for cruising luxury worldwide, they are fast, easy to handle and stable thanks to their trademark, deep keel, (6'5"). The walk through transom and spacious swim platform, make them ideal for a cruising holiday. These beautiful, new, cruisers come with 3 double cabins and two heads. The two large aft cabins have double lockers, a cockpit window each, side windows and deck hatch making them really light and cheerful.
The easy to handle main-sheet-system, combined with 6 winches in the cockpit, makes for easy and pleasurable sailing, even if shorthanded.
