Yacht Charter Caribbean

Caribbean Sailing

The Caribbean is the most popular charter ground in the world and it is undoubtedly one of the world's finest sailing areas. This cruising ground is essentially a long string of islands stretching through a crescent that curves east and south from Florida to the Venezuelan coast. From the Virgin Islands in the north to Trinidad and Tobago in the south, each island offers distinctive landscapes and cultures all within easy sailing distance of each other. Because of the warm winds, protected waterways and safe anchorages the Caribbean draws beginners and expert sailors alike.
Caribbean sailing is a major tourist industry, attracting jet loads of sailors from around the world and, as a result, these are also the most congested charter grounds to be found. The only drawback to the Caribbean is that too many sailors know about it.
The main season runs from November through to July. The high season is from mid-December to March. The trade winds average 20 - 25 knots in winter throughout the Caribbean, but the outside islands protect this cruising ground from the Atlantic swells, providing great sailing and comfortable powerboating. The climate throughout The Caribbean is close to perfect, with a minimum temperature of 70F even at night and a winter high of around 82F. In the summer this rises only slightly but feels warmer as the wind is generally lighter. The hurricane season peaks between mid August and late October.

By clicking on the links to the left you will find a directory of sailing charter providers in the different areas of the Caribbean.
You will find both professional yacht charter companies and private yacht owners renting their boats. Contact the Charter Company or private yacht owner directly.
sBoats do not own any yachts for rental and we are not involved in the chartering process. If you wish to charter a yacht, please contact each company or private individual.
